Grand Marais Kayak Tours and Trips

Grand Marais kayak tours

Explore Lake Superior on a half-day Grand Marais kayak tour. Our tours start in Grand Marais’ harbor and allow you to get your sea legs in a protected area before we kayak out on Lake Superior.

Paddle past rugged basalt cliffs, to a 25-foot waterfall and visit ancient lava flows while being guided by an American Canoe Association trained guide. Beginners welcome!

Lake Superior Kayaking Trips

Take a full-day kayaking trip at one of three locations that all feature kayaking up against towering cliffs, remote beaches and crystal clear waters.

We offer kayaking trips to the remote and pristine Pigeon Bay, to the cliffs and caves of Tettegouche State Park, and to the hidden and seldom visited Manitou River Waterfall. Beginners welcome!

Comfortable and Stable

Our kayaks feel comfortable and stable. You can easily go straight when you want and turn quickly when you need to. The seats adjust to fit you correctly. We want you to have fun, so we selected kayaks to make that easy.

Safety

Your safety is our top priority. Lake Superior’s water is cold, so we supply wetsuits to keep you warm. On all our tours, we teach a short lesson to make sure you know how to get out of your kayak, maneuver and paddle efficiently.

Trained Guides

Our guides are trained by the American Canoe Association. Most are ACA-certified coastal kayaking instructors (a step above a standard guide) with current certifications. Our guides are current in CPR and first aid training, wilderness first aid or are wilderness first responders.
